June 28, 2008

Shannon and Tyler were married on June 28th, so far the hottest day of the year. Temperatures reached triple digits on their wedding day where the ceremony and reception took place at Kruger's Farm on Sauvie Island. I stepped into a pile of dirt up to my calf right away, so I got the get really dirty part of the shoot done quickly:)
Shannon had two dresses for her wedding day, one for the ceremony and half of the reception, a long, slinky dress with a wide brown sash, very elegant. The second was a short strapless cocktail dress which she wore for the second part of the reception, very sassy. Tyler wasn't out of the loop, he also had two changes of clothing, the suit and tie for the ceremony, and a much cooler and relaxed shorts and shirt for the second part of the reception.
Congratulations Shannon and Tyler!
The house on the farm where the bride and her bridesmaids got ready
The tree where the ceremony took place
Cool retro fan, it did help with the heat in the farmhouse a bit
The flowers
One of the bridesmaids
Of course the flowers needed to stay cool as long as possible so they wouldn't wilt in the heat, the frig was the perfect place for them

The bride went to the sprinklers to cool off for a quick bit, it was a very popular area during the heat of the day

The Food

Cookies!!
There was meat too, not just fruit and veggies, but you know me, the vegetarian, I'm drawn to the plantlife
The Toasts

This was neat, instead of a cake to cut, they scooped and fed each other fruit cobbler

Hey, there's no shoving cobbler in your spouses face, right?? Cake, sure, cobbler, um...

The couple's first dance

The children's play table
There was a walk-in refrigerator that people were sneaking off to to cool down in and Shannon was heading there too. On the way there, I asked her to stop for just a few more photos, the red wall and blue sky was unbelievable, then we went to the frig which was just heavenly

After the dances, toasts, and eating, the couple returned to the farmhouse to change into their second clothing options

The second dress
The first dress
There was a field of grass that I asked the couple to jump into, there aren't too many snakes here in Oregon are there?:)

Then they walked down the road for a bit, I love the loooong shadows they casted.

As the sun went down, the light was just so pretty
When was the last time you just laid down in the cool, tall grass?
There goes the bouquet
